    Unanswered: Msg 213 Column name or number of supplied values does not match table definition

    delete from tblTable1

    insert into tblTable1 select * from tblTable1_Link

    I am getting the following error :

    SQL Server Database Error - Msg 213 Column name or number of supplied values does not match table definition.

    I am sure that both table having same structure,column names and same data type:

    Thank you for your help. I tried posting this to sqlsvrtip but got no help so I thought I would try dbforums as it seems to be way more active.

    are you sure? because this error message only shows up when the number of columns is different
