    Unanswered: RMAN backups

    Hello,

    I have a file system which is now 100% full

    bas-san2:/vol/wflprd_orabackup02
    462G 460G 1.7G 100% /u01/orabackup02

    My question is via RMAN, how can I tell or obtain a list of the files which have expired
    so I can remove the backup files from the file system without removing any files that
    are required for recovery?

    When I do RMAN> show all;

    I see the retention policy set to 8 days but I do not see files older than 8 days in the backup directory

    Can anyone shed some light on this as to what I need to do in order to resolve this issue.

    Many thanks in advance

    Cool Crosscheck

    Try:
    Code:
    CONNECT TARGET /;
    ALLOCATE CHANNEL FOR MAINTENANCE DEVICE TYPE DISK;
    CROSSCHECK BACKUP DEVICE TYPE DISK;
    CROSSCHECK ARCHIVELOG ALL;
    DELETE NOPROMPT EXPIRED BACKUP;
    DELETE NOPROMPT OBSOLETE;
    EXIT;
    The person who says it can't be done should not interrupt the person doing it. -- Chinese proverb
