I am new to DB2. I am integrating DB2 database with an application that already works with Oracle and Sybase databases. I have gotten the application to work with DB2 without changing most of the SQL statements but I having trouble with sql statements that have timestamp insert or select queries. Following is an example of an insert query that is failing - insert into maint_tc_tech_ndx values(%i, %i, {fn CONVERT('%s',SQL_TYPE_TIMESTAMP)}). I am getting a "[IBM][CLI Driver] CLI0118E Invalid SQL syntax. SQLSTATE=37000" error. The query works if I get rid of the fn CONVERT function and use the timestamp string directly in the query. I want to keep the fn CONVERT in order for the application to work with other databases. Does anybody have an idea how to make this work?
