    Red face Unanswered: Security for sql server 2008 ..on public server

    I have installed sql server2008 64 bit standard edition....i have to secure this server which things needs to be taken into consideration??..as our server is gng to be public ...i have few questions?? pls Help

    1. I believe port number needs to be changed but ..when i go to configuration manger and click on tcp/ip then i see port number specified in three places...ip1, ip2, ipall.....so where i need to change the port???

    2. what all other security measures do i need to take

    3. sql server service account is running on windows domain administrator
    credentials...how safe it is??

    4. can i give static ip to sql server ...i.e ip other than that of server....if yes how and where can i do this setting??
