    Unanswered: DB2 DPF on AIX

    Hi , We use TSM for backup and log archiving. It was working fine for last few months. TSM team has changed the password as they thought it has been expired. (DB2 Archive failed). I can not see any values on current db CFg for TSM( for password, node name, user and management class) . Do I need to set these values in DB CFG to take effect of the new password ? (But it worked before with blank values for TSM parms)

    Hi,

    check
    env | grep DSMI
    The values could be configured in the dsm.sys.

    If Passwordaccess is set to generate, you have to set a password with dsmapipw. You have to use it as root with the DB2 environment of the Instance.

    Hi, Thnaks for the reply.

    I have issued env | grep DSMI and received below:

    DSMI_CONFIG=/usr/tivoli/tsm/client/api/bin64/dsm.opt
    DSMI_LOG=/db/db2inst1/sqllib/db2dump/dsmerror_db2.log1
    DSMI_DIR=/usr/tivoli/tsm/client/api/bin32

    How should I check passwordaccess is set to generate or not ? If it not generate can I just bounced Db2 and will the new password will affect/

    Also, If I need to reset it I don't have the old password to do that ( I Checked the manual and it says one need to enter old password before changing it) . Is there any workaround . Thanks again for your help !
