    Unanswered: backup informix

    Hi!

first clarified that informix is not nothing but I feel the need to investigate something, so your help will be very valuable.

We must get the backup of our informix database, run the command only ontape-s-L 0. But there are many db and do not know exactly what it backup, with this command we backup all data bases?

yes, the ontape command with the -s (full system) option and the -L 0 (level zero) option will backup all databases in the instance,
including rootdbs, physdbs, logdbs, and tempdbs as well as all user defined DB's.

Yes, every dbspace, you can see your last backup with onstat -g arc

    For example:
    Code:
    IBM Informix Dynamic Server Version 11.70.UC1DE -- On-Line -- Up 02:54:04 -- 153332 Kbytes

num DBSpace Q Size Q Len Buffer partnum size scanner

    Dbspaces - Archive Status
name number level date log log-position
    rootdbs 1 0 10/13/2010.14:56 41 0xf27018
    datadbs 4 0 10/13/2010.14:56 41 0xf27018
    testdbs 5 0 10/13/2010.14:56 41 0xf27018
    indexdbs 6 0 10/13/2010.14:56 41 0xf27018
