    Unanswered: Number of Log Switches

    Hi,

    I am trying to calculate the number of log switches over the past 24 hours. Is there a sample scripts that someone has or a SQL statement I could use to generate this answer?

    Also if there are more log switches during an hour than average does this indicate that more data was written to the database during this particular period?

    Many thanks

    select trunc(first_time), count(*) from v$log_history group by trunc(first_time) order by 1;

    YES
    You can lead some folks to knowledge, but you can not make them think.
    The average person thinks he's above average!
    For most folks, they don't know, what they don't know.
