    Unanswered: how to solve production mssql server 2005 Bulk insert error

    Hi,

    I got error for bulk insert in to production server mssql server 2005 error for
    Query:[/B] Running Production server to execute query

    insert INTO tbl_ICD9 select * FROM OPENDATASOURCE('Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0',
    'Data Source=E:\DB\ICD9.xls;Extended Properties=Excel 8.0')...[tbl_ICD9$]

    Error:

    Msg 7399, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
    The OLE DB provider "Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0" for linked server "(null)" reported an error. The provider did not give any information about the error.
    Msg 7303, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
    Cannot initialize the data source object of OLE DB provider "Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0" for linked server "(null)".
    Please help how to solve the problem.

    Provided Answers: 54
    RDP to the server and verify that there is a file named E:\DB\ICD9.xls there, there ought to be. Open that file with Excel and verify that there is a named range with the name tbl_ICD9$, there probably is none.
