Unanswered: maximum number of column in table

    Hi all,
is it acceptable (or manageble) to have about 120 columns in a table?
There is a maximum number permitted or a best practice?

    Acceptable and manageable - yes.
Maximum number of columns equals 1000 in 10g R2 (what is your database version? Search for "oracle database limits").
Best practice says that you should keep your tables normalized.

    thanks for the quickly answer!
    I have a 10g R2 so it shouldn't be a problem.
    Thanks again
