    Unanswered: How do you open up a table?

    I click ON FILE | OPEN, select my folder ,and then click on one of my scripts (e.g. A-Script)
    And then I get a message similar to “SP2-0423: Illegal GET command”.

    And now Im lost. How do I link to and open up the table? Theres about one more thing Im supposed to do but I cant for the life of me remember what.

    (And yes the table 'A-Script' has been set up by someone else and is perfectly fine. I Just cant link to and open up the table.)

    Are you sure about this Oracle & not MS Access?

    Ever consider using a SELECT statement?

    Yes, Im using Oracle and not Access. I know the difference. What type of select statement? I try select * from A-Script but it comes back with 'SQL command not properly ended'. Then I try an select statement for a table within A-Script called Taxi_Company and I go select * from Taxi_Company; but I come back with 'table or view does not exist.'

    I don't know what you have.
    I don't know what you do.
    I don't know what you see.
    It is really, Really, REALLY difficult to fix a problem that can not be seen.
    use COPY & PASTE so we can see what you do & how Oracle responds.

    Which Oracle USER issues SELECT & which tables does this USER own?

    Im just trying to open up my table, so I can do queries and I stuff on it.

    I click ON FILE | OPEN, select the folder ,and then click on my script, A-Script. It comes back with “SP2-0423: Illegal GET command” and then Im suppose to do one thing more that Ive forgotten.

    SQL> select * from A-Script;
    select * from A-Script
    *
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-00933: SQL command not properly ended

    SQL> select * from Taxi_Company;
    select * from Taxi_Company
    *
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-00942: table or view does not exist

    Just wondering have you ever opened up a script before? Have you ever seen “SP2-0423: Illegal GET command” before?

    >select * from A-Script;
    Within SQL the binary arithmetic operator for subtraction is "-",
    so why are you attempting to subtract "Script" from "A"?

    issue following sql & post results
    select table_name from user_tables;
