    Unanswered: SQL Server Monitoring tools?

We're looking at Embarcardo (DB Optimizer XE) and Red-Gate (SQL Response), any other suggestions?

What's the Cadillac product on the market?

Spotlight on SQL Server works very well. Windows Profiler works pretty well too if you know what you want to monitor, and it is provided with Microsoft Windows at no extra charge!

    SQL Monitor from Red Gate

Hi - I work at Red Gate so am obviously biased here but - we've got a new version of SQL Response out very soon. We've renamed it to SQL Monitor as it is a complete re-write of the previous tool with lots of new features (historical data, reporting, Rewind Time and so on). We have a Beta out at the moment if you want to give it a quick try at:

SQL Monitor Tool | SQL Server Monitoring | SQL Monitor beta

    Cheers

    Welcome Ben!

As long as you state your bias plainly up front, you're welcome to any bias that suits you! DBForums works pretty hard to keep the playing field level and honest, but everyone is allowed to play and there is no harm in "rooting for the home team" so vendors are welcome as long as they disclose the relationship up front!
