    Hi DB2 is installed in Linux,

    if the installation path is deleted,

    what is the effect ??

    but still we are able to connect in client.

    and if i try in server only i have the error ... "db2 command not found"

    Can you explain exactly which path your deleted (the path name)?

    If you deleted the instance owner path, $home/sqllib, then you should run db2iupdt command as root. It is located on the install path which is something like /opt/ibm/db2/V9.5/instance. See the Command Reference manual for specific parameters to include in this command.

    If you actually deleted /opt/ibm/db2/V9.5 you will have to reinstall, but since the client is working, this seems doubtful.

    you can also talk to your sys admin and see if they can restore what was deleted.

    @marcus : The deleted/opt/ibm/db2/V 9.7

    and still the db is active which gave us some hope , as no one knows such a thing has happend.

    @couger : for restoration we need to have backup,

    but the solution was really simple in this case.

    i just copied all the files from another server and it started to work....

    I sure hope you are not satisfied with your solution, because if you are, you are bound to fail. You have at least two problems that needs to be resolved yesterday.
