    Unanswered: Modified Autonumber

    I am using Access 2007.

If I want autonumber to display EMP001, EMP002 .... I go to the format field and enter "EMP"0000.

My question is -- I want my autoformat to displayd Y10000 where
Y is just a letter for Year
10 is the year, next year I would like to display 11
    000 is the sequential number.

Is there a solution without using Macro. I do not know too much about Macro to modify if necessary.

    Thank you.

I would not use a Macro for this. I would use VBA code.

    "Autonumber" without autonumber
Demonstrates how to increment an index without using autonumber.
