Unanswered: Saving the formatted contents of a word file in clob field in Oracle

    Hi everyone,

Can i save the contents of a word file (which contains some formatted text) in clob field and then retrieve them in their original state i.e can i save the formatted text in clob field like we can save it in blob field?

    Thanks,

No, if you want to save it without any modifications, you have to use a BLOB column (a word file is a binary file)

    Thanks for the reply shammat.

It means that we cannot save the file content in clob field which have some graphics/images in it. Right?

You cannot save any Word document in a CLOB column.
Regardless wether it has images or not.
