Unanswered: Display Records in a Grid?

Hi all. I've got a database in Access of about 2000 records. Currently, one can browse them all via a continuous form that displays them one after another in a long, LONG list like this:

I would like to set up something that displays the records similar to files in windows when "view" is set to "large icons" like this:

This would make browsing a hell of a lot easier since you will be able to see 10X more records at a time. As a database portal, maybe it would look something like this:

But on a larger scale with smaller space for each record (ideally you can see 50 or so at a time; each has an icon). Can this be done with Access? I am open to moving the database to some other software or format, but am partial to Access since it's already in there and I moderately fluent with VBA. My understanding is that Access is limited to displaying continuous records in a single dimension only. Please send your suggestions.

Even if you could do so, which you can't, in Access, displaying 50 records at a time would basically give you 'thumbnails' and require such a small font that they would be unreadable.

Why do you feel the need to view so many records at once? There are many strategies for searching/retrieving a given record.

    Hope this helps!

Lies! I can see 13x8=104 files/folders in Windows Explorer at a time with a screen resolution of 1600x1200 and "View" set to large icons. No trouble reading text at all.

I want to make it as easy as possible to browse the records, the content of which is best communicated visually with an icon and a title (and maybe some other brief text).

Any recommendations for tools that can do this? I have no idea where to start looking and only have experience with Access.
