    Unanswered: Deleting postgres

I need to completely delete all existence of PG from a computer and reinstall it w/the program that needs PG in order to work. Windows XP media edition (not my computer) and I assume I need to find and eliminate the user posgres as part of that process. How would I find that user and delete it?
Now here is my biggest problem. The 8.3 pgstat.stat file is corrupt and I can't not delete it AT ALL. I can't even get eraser (the program) to erase it. Now I am trying to install 8.4 along with the program that will be using PG, so does it matter that if the pgstat.stat stays without any of the other 8.3 files?
