Unanswered: Paradox 7 on XP Disappears

I have installed Paradox 7 on XP several times before with no issues. Now I have a install on a new machine running XP SP3 and paradox installs, but when I try to open anything, Paradox disappears. I've tried setting the compatibility mode (on the program and on setup.exe) and I've tried setting the TEMP & TMP to a smaller drive and still have problem. Any ideas?
    Thanks, Steve.

7/16 or 7/32? do you mean when you open a table interactively, or running your apps? no error message?

where is everything installed? do you have full administrator rights?

7/32. Paradox is installed in a location where the user has full adminstrator rights. It is on the local c:\ drive. Paradox closes with no error messages. This happens when you try to open an existing file (table, query, report, etc.) by either the menu or the toolbar. The hard drive is 1 terabyte in size.

that's my first guess.. sorry, but the user reports on Win7 and the user reports on drives that big are both very, very limited..
