    One vs more tables

    Dear all,
Is it true that querying one table is always faster than more of them. I need to decide whether to put all data in one table or to involve some associative tables. What is the criteria upon which the data model is chosen?
    Thanks

Very few things are true always.
If it's not practically useful, then it's practically useless.
