    Post Unanswered: How to use MS ACCESS as a front end

    Hi everyone.. I'm very new to Ms Access... Can anyone help me out here... I want to know exactly how to use MS Access as a front end.. Please suggest some tutorials etc for this.. I'd be very thankful

    I'm also new to access, but I just read over a chapter in a book that covers this. The book is for 2010, but it may be similar in older version also.

    1. Make a backup copy of the DB (just in case)
    2. Open the DB and close all tables and anything that may refer to a table as the wizard won't run if they are open
    3. Click Access Database in the Move Data group on the Database Tools tab of the Ribbon
    4. Click the Split Database button
    5. Type a name for the back-end DB and click the Split button
