    Unanswered: Access 2003 automatting field

I would like to make the data entry on this database easier and faster

    Table name = TRAFFICTR1
field name = VEH1HOMEADDRESS (city, state only)

I had made a query from the table using just the VEH1HOMEADDRESS field
so now this query called CITY LIST has 9000 records of all the cities that I had already entered in that field EXCEPT everytime I enter PHILADELPHIA in the VEH1HOMEADDRESS field on the form, it adds it to the CITY LIST query.
So needless to say, there are 75 PHILADELPHIAs, 85 NEW YORKs, and so on

the best part is that it works, when I type PH, PHILADELPHIA fills the field and if I enter a city that was not entered before, I would have to type the whole name and then this would be saved to the query.

Is there another way to do this without having duplicates in the query?

Use a SELECT DISTINCT statement for your Query:

SELECT DISTINCT FieldName FROM TableName ORDER BY FieldName

    Linq ;0)>
    Hope this helps!

The problem with making anything foolproof...is that fools are so darn ingenious!
