Unanswered: How to Import Data From Excell into Access Table or Query

    Dear Friends,

Daily we get about 20 to 30 orders from a particular client of our services and it really does take a lot of our time to manually input that information into the database.
I have tried the normal import feature from "file" get external data" then choose file and then choose the table etc but it wont work.

Within this table to which i want to import the data, i have clientID, BookingID, ServiceID, location etc.

Any idea on the best practice would highly appreciated.

Best practice depends on your specifics, and "wont work" isn't very descriptive. Generally I'd say to look at TransferSpreadsheet in VBA help.

What file format is the client sending the information in?

If TransferSpreadsheet with its different options does not work in your case, you could use Automation to create an instance of the Excel application, have it open the worksheet(s) that hold the data you want to import, read them and store them into one or more tables in Access. As a general guideline:
    Code:
    Function OpenExcelDocument(DocName As String)

        Dim appXL As Excel.Application

        Set appXL = New Excel.Application
        With appXL
            .Workbooks.Open Filename:=DocName
            '
            ' Your code goes here
            '
             .ActiveWorkbook.Close
            .Quit
        End With
        Set appXL = Nothing

    End Function
    Have a nice day!
