Our distribution server crashed today and we lost 2 of the drives on the server and could not get any data back.
We had to rebuild the server from OS up and enable the server as distributor again. Thus the distribution server is "clean".
We need to now set up all our replication again, which is a pain, but the only way. The problem is that all the replication is still on the publishers and we cannot detele it,
it gives the error "Could not update the distribution database subscription table. The subscription status could not be changed."
The error makes sense, as there is nothing to update in the distribution database as it was rebuilt.
Is there however a way to drop replication from the publisher without needing to connect to the distribution server?
Our distribution server is running SQL Server 2008 R2 STD
The publishers are from SQL 2000 to SQL 2008 R2 ENT
