Unanswered: dynamically name records based off of existing records in a query?

    Hello:

    If I have a table with 13 records and one variable, is there a way to create a second variable such that record1 = newName1, record2 = newName2, record3 = newName3...?

My question could be in the wrong direction, so let me try again...

I am trying to make a report with a rolling year of data, split out by months. The months were originally records, but the display in the report must be one row of data with the months as columns, so a rolling year will cause the months to shift by one with each production of the report. I produced the months as columns via a crosstab query, but, as I started to build the report, it dawned on me that the column names will change. I was then thinking that I could try to name the months as Month1, Month2, etc. to resolve the name change.

If there is a better approach, I'd love to read about it.

not certain, will a pivot table handle this requirement?
I'd rather be riding on the Tiger 800 or the Norton
