    Hi ,

I have a RHEL 5.5 32 bit OS and Db2 9.7 ESE installed, i have created one instance ... now i want to create one more instance, this is just for testing purpuse ..

if i try with db2icrt instance_name it throws error
DBI1111E The FencedID parameter must be specified using -u flag with

give the fenced user id while creating the instance
    db2icrt -a server -u Fenceduserid Instance_name

for fenced user id check /etc/passwd search for fence

sorry, not clear .. subject to resources, you can have many instances on the same server .. all of them can be active and each of the instances can have their own database and all of them can be active to ..
if i want to use both the instance actively
what do you want to do with them?
