    what clues exist in log file?

    do as below so we can know complete Oracle version & OS name.

    Post via COPY & PASTE complete results of
    SELECT * from v$version;

    SQL> SELECT * from v$version;

    BANNER
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - 64bi
    PL/SQL Release 10.2.0.4.0 - Production
    CORE 10.2.0.4.0 Production
    TNS for Linux: Version 10.2.0.4.0 - Production
    NLSRTL Version 10.2.0.4.0 - Production

    Problem with the log is it is to long. I'd have to break it down to 4 posts. Any section you'd like to see or want me to break it down?

    Thanks a ton for taking the time.

    Any ERROR will always be near the end of the log file; but near is a relative term.
    I don't care about what worked, only care about what failed & why.

    why the version mis-match between EM & DB?
