    Cool Unanswered: Need Help

I am designing an access database and want to be able to have multiple users using it at one time. I have split the database and have put the front in database in a sharedrive for folks to use. The only problem is that they can not open the database until I set the read/write permissions. How do you allow they to open the database? How do you set the security levels in access 2007?

    Thanks so much

By setting the app up correctly! A copy of the front end, with everything except your tables, needs to be on the PC of each user! It cannot reside on a shared drive fpr one and all to use! Doing so will lead to more problems, including corruption, than you can imagine.

The back end, with tables, goes on a shared drive.

    Hope this helps!

The problem with making anything foolproof...is that fools are so darn ingenious!
