Unanswered: Upgrade SQL Server 2005 from Developer to Standard

    Good day,

I have just been pulled onto a project where the original DBA mistakenly installed SQL Server 2005 and over a year ago and when I was pulled onto the project I checked to see what I was working with and noticed that it is Developer Edition.

Is there any way of upgrading SQL Server 2005 Developer to SQL Server 2005 Standard?

I have read quite a number of posts in googe but they all point to copying the mdf and ldf files or backing up the DB's and then uninstalling SQL Server Developer and Installing Standard and then copying back the MDF and LDF files or restoring the DB's.

Can anyone help? Ideally I do not want to have to reinstall.

The upgrade is possible, but you will want to make sure that you are not using any Enterprise Edition features. Check here for the SKUUPGRADE option on Setup.exe.
