    Question Unanswered: Subform data inverted

Strange question. This just began to happen today. Hasn't been doing this for the 2 years we have used this database. I have a subform that has a series of steps listed in it. They enter fine, but when I go to a new form and return to that form, the steps are inverted. I realize in the attached example, I could just click the sort button, but most of the time, the steps are alphabetical so making them so wouldn't work. My attachments show the problem. "Original" is how I entered it, "Next" is how it appears when I return to the form. Is it a setting in the subform somewhere, or in the form that the subform is part of?

Are there index(es) defined on the source table(s)?
    Have a nice day!
