    Unanswered: db2 rebuild index

    When an index is being rebuilt on a table, what is the STATE of the tablespace it resides in?
    getting a deadlock when a scheduled backup is being run.
    SQL0911N The current transaction has been rolled back because of a deadlock
    or timeout. Reason code "68". SQLSTATE=40001
    The one prominent thing seen in the db2diag.log is the rebuilding of indexes at the same time.

    RC=68 is a lock timeout. Capture lock and application info (example: db2pd, snapshots, db2_capture_locktimeout...) to understand what's happening.
