    Unanswered: x64 2005 installation fails

OS: Windows XP Professional x64 2003 version SP2
SQL Server: 2005 x64 Enterprise Edition

Installation fails - actually, when I have to choose components to install, all the checkboxes are grayed out (except the last one, Workstation components).
From what I've read here: Hardware and Software Requirements for Installing SQL Server 2005 I meet the requirements. The log file says The current system does not meet the minimum hardware requirementsfor this SQL Server release.

    Any ideas?

It is a clean VM on which I've mounted SQL Server iso with MagicDisc. Besides Windows and MagicDisc, I only have SQL Server prerequisites installed: IE8, .Net Framework 2.0 (x64), SQL Server Native Client and SQL server Setup Support Files.

I run setup.exe, I get 1 warning on System Configuration Check step, and then I get the all grayed out checkboxes step.

very difficult to find out the error

I am not sure what could be the reason but normally this kind of set up or executing problems happens due to disabled services. You can check it out.

start -> control panel -> administrative tool -> services -> sql server (all the SQL things).

make sure they are not disabled. make it automatic or manual.

MSDN is wrong. I've read system requirements from the installation disk and it clearly says: 2003 x64. So I need another clean VM.
    Thank you for your time.

Wait...what? Which OS is it? Windows XP, or Windows Server 2003? Windows XP can only take express and developer editions, if I recall.

It's Windows XP Professional 64bit with SP2. But when I go to System - Properties there is a 2003 version added at the end.
From what I've read, the SP2 for x64 it was common for both XP and 2003 and that's way they've added this. So the entire OS name is Windows XP Pro x64, 2003 version, with SP2
