    Unanswered: Power Outage SQL SERVER 2008 FAILOVER CLSUTER ON Windows Server 2008 r2

    We have the SQL SERVER 2008 fail over Cluster installed on the Windows Server 2008 r2.There is Power outage to upgrade the system inn data center i.e The boxes need to be shut down completely.
    So, Can anyone help me in What way I need to handle this so that after the outage sql server cluster should work fine ..... ?

    Before shutting down the individual nodes, just set all of the resource groups offline. Once the work is done, bring the nodes backup, then bring the resource groups back online.

    Thanks for the reply Crowley.Do I need the stop ALL the SQL SERVER SERVICES ?

    Stop them through the cluster administrator tool. If you stop the services directly through the services applet, the cluster may interpret that as a crash, and bring the resource group up on the other server in the cluster.
