    Question Data Masking

    Hi All,
In my project, we have a requirement where we have to mask sensitive information (name, SSN number etc) . I can do it through the various system algorithm. But the issue is that , we have 2 different databases (oracle,DB2) and there might be situation where a single customer exist on both the data base. WHile doing modelling on analysis we need to match both the records on the basis of SSN number. Current masking algorithms will produce different value for a single SSN number in different databases. How can i address this situation . Any better ways so that i can mask the data , at the same time can retain the relationships. ?
    immd reply is appreciated.

You could store the SSN hashed through a one-way encryption algorithm, using the same algorithm on both databases.
If it's not practically useful, then it's practically useless.
