    Unanswered: Workflow assistance

    Hi folks,

    I have the following requirement.

    The workflow is as follows.
One group lists the equipment required - Table A
Second group needs to take this equipment data and then send it to three or more vendors to get quotations so each record from Table A will generate 3 or more records in Table B. However, this group would not like to enter equipment/rfq field data again from Table A

    Table A
    Equipid
    RFQ
    Equipment

    Table B
    Quotationsid
    RFQ
    Equipment
    Vendor

What is best way to setup? Any thoughts appreciated.

Let table B reference the EquipId from Table A.

    Table B
    Quotationsid
    EquipId
    Vendor

When you want to show something from Table B, do a JOIN with table A on the columns EquipId, and show the RFQ and Equipment from Table A next to the data from Table B..
    With kind regards . . . . . SQL Server 2000/2005/2012
