    Unanswered: rman

    hi,
    there are certain configure command which did not display if we say show all..

    for example...
    Configure channel device type disk maxpiece size 20m;

    but the above command is not displayed if we say..

    yes,after setting the above command i can see...but its like hidden if we do not set it..like this there are other setting also..

    HOW to see all those setting????

    v$rman_configuration do not show those hidden setting......

    RMAN> show all;

    The above command has invalid syntax...
    Better check out the fine Oracle® Database Backup and Recovery Reference and code correct syntax.

    I am sorry sir its...

    RMAN> Configure channel device type disk maxpiecesize 20m;

    old RMAN configuration parameters:
    CONFIGURE CHANNEL DEVICE TYPE DISK MAXPIECESIZE 30 M;
    new RMAN configuration parameters:
    CONFIGURE CHANNEL DEVICE TYPE DISK MAXPIECESIZE 20 M;
    new RMAN configuration parameters are successfully stored
    released channel: ORA_DISK_1

    using target database control file instead of recovery catalog
    new RMAN configuration parameters:

    sorry but my question is different...
    i am asking that there are some settings in RMAN which is not displayed if we say SHOW ALL (for example setting maximum piece size,changing backup location,excluding tablespace from backup,.......etc ...etc) so how to see entire configure command for those setting..and apart from this how many other setting are existing...
