Unanswered: Number conversion bug in Access???

I have access 2007, windows XP, quad core intel processor. I have 7 years of experience with access and vba.

I am converting text to numbers using the CDBL or the CSNG function in an access query. It's converting some numbers fine but others its adding more decimal points than the original number had. For example, it is converting the length field from 38.7 to 38.7000007629395.

I can't understand why this is happening unless the CPU has gone bad. Is there a good website to test a computer's math capabilities to see if the chip itself has a bad circuit or two in it's floating point functionality?

Double and Single are floating point numbers, and can do the type of thing you're describing, Try CCur or CDec.
