    Unanswered: fixing a 32-bit installation with a 64-bit installation of sql 2008

    should it be as simple as detach all user DB's, uninstall SQL 2008 x86, install SQL 2008 x64, attach all user DB's?

    I prefer backup/restore, as it gives you a nicer way back, if things go wrong. The other things to remember are

    Logins
    SQL Agent jobs
    (maybe) SSIS packages
