Niche Technologists, Inc. is an IT staffing and consulting company delivering services since 1993 to clients throughout the U.S. and Europe. The company has an impressive track record within the Business Intelligence community (e.g., Hyperion, SAP BW, SAP Business Objects, MSAS, etc.) and in filling other specialized IT positions.
Our hands-on managers have more than 40 years IT experience (25+ years IT recruiting), and extensive personal and career coaching experience.
Niche currently has a full-time position to offer with a client in Atlanta. The position is for a Hyperion Essbase Developer although the job title is BPM Systems Analyst. Contact email@example.com
This position offers exposure to and experience with the full range of Hyperion products currently in use: Essbase, Planning, Financial Reporting, Web Analysis, and from maintenance to development of all aspects of these tools and the back-end tools that support them.
This position is for someone who really wants to broaden their Hyperion experience and continue to be hands on. It is not a management position and probably would not be of interest to anyone with several years’ hands-on experience who is looking to move into a management role.
The starting base salary is competitive and includes a comprehensive benefits package. Relocation assistance seriously considered for qualified and successful applicant.
Note: No visa sponsorships currently available.
What the hiring manager is looking for:
• Hyperion Essbase development experience (1-2 years)
o An understanding of the fundamentals behind Essbase. Dense/Sparse, ASO versus BSO, calc scripts, load rules. Must have hands on experience with load rules, calc scripts, member formulas, troubleshooting load/calc issues, optimization, development of cubes (ASO and BSO), Maxl and Esscmd, batch scripts, and day2day maintenance of an Essbase environment
• Proven technical aptitude
o Someone who has shown capability and enjoys the technical side of things. Maybe someone that has done scripting in VBscript, or messed around with computer networks or built web pages in their spare time, etc. The person needs to show that level of interest in computer technology
• Good communication skills
o This is not a “backroom” techie position. The department is not a large one so the person needs to be able to fit into a small group of people. In addition, this person will have some interaction with upper level management
• Able to figure things out
o This is probably the most important skill. This person must be comfortable with and enjoy learning new things. The department does what it needs to do to get things done. That may be creating a cube, support a web server, coding in SQL, installing software, handling user requests/support, coding in some scripting language, doing something they have never done before. The person must be able to learn new skills “on the fly” and apply them. This position is not for someone who says “I can’t do that because I haven’t done that before.”
• Worker Bee
o The manager is looking for support, someone to help in the position. Someone who can take direction and run with it. If the person is looking for a management role, this is not it.
