Question Unanswered: VB if statement programming

Hello everyone, this is my first post, and i have what i hope will be a simple question.

I am setting up an access database using lots of forms for data entry. As part of these forms the input boxes have conditional formatting that turns the data box red if the value entered is not in a certain range.

my question is; Is it possible for me to program the form with an IF statement which prevents a record from being created when a box is red, UNLESS an additional entry field is filled in with an appropriate value?

Thank you so much for your help.

Sure; it's probably most common to use the before update event of the form for data validation:
