    Unanswered: Show related field on report rather than the primary autonum key

    I cannot find a solution via google or searching these forums so hopefully one of you can point me in the right direction.

    I have a related table with Vendor Type including a primary auto number key and the actual string description linked to my vendor table.

    When I create a report, the primary key (number) shows up rather than the string description. How can I instead show the description that = the primary auto number key.

    I appreciate your help!

    You can use an INNER JOIN Query:
    SELECT [Vendor Table].*, [Vendor Type].[Type Description]
    FROM [Vendor Table] INNER JOIN [Vendor Type] ON
         [Vendor Table].[Type Id] = [Vendor Type].[Primary Key];
    Replace everything within square brackets ([])with the proper names.
    Have a nice day!
