Unanswered: Problem about Buffer cache hit ratio

I am trying to analyse database performance. For this, I have deployed SQL Server R2 database and the application at VM Workstation (Windows Server 2008).

However, when generate Performance Log to capture ‘Buffer cache hit ratio’ – it just records value as 0%.

Can someone please suggest why? To add, I am getting problem at VM only. When I record this locally with similar settings – the values are almost 100%, which seems correct.

Maybe the VM machine was not given the right amount of memory at creation?

If possible - speak to the VM administrtaor - and see if they can extract information on the hypervisor . With Buffer Cache Hit ratio - most likely it is memory pressure.
