    Question Unanswered: how to find the datatype name with value

    I know table name and one value in that table. how can i get the variable name of that value. please post the query to find it. please give me reply

    You mean, a COLUMN name (not "variable")? Compose piece of code (PL/SQL, most probably) that will query USER_TAB_COLUMNS; using dynamic SQL (EXECUTE IMMEDIATE, that is), perform SELECT from that table, for that column value. If it returns "something", you got it. If not (or an error is raised), move on to another column.
