    Unanswered: Cursor

What cursor is doing in oracle.

    I know the below things
    Private memory area.
    Implicit, Explicit cursors.
    Atributes: %ISOPEN, %FOUND, %NOTFOUND & %ROWCOUNT.
Fetching row by row and processing it.

What is the use of cursor in oracle.
    How it is working.

    Thanks in advance,
    Ananth

can we operate selected records in a table
(Select * from T where C like 'v%' - But this selects all the C values starts with 'v')
can we able to jump to a particular record and process it.
