Unanswered: how to call fmx file in linux server

    Hi All,

    I'm new to this forum.

Iam having two servers say A(assue os is windows) and B(os is Linux)
In B server i have installed oracle forms11g application server all of my application files in the folder.(fmb and fmx)

My question is when ever a file comes from server A to Server B(in some folder) i need to call my fmx file (how this can be done) so that it reads the received file data and store it into Database.

    Please suggest any idea

    Thanks in Advance

According to what you said, I wouldn't do that as you asked.

A form is probably not the best choice to load data into the database; I'd rather use SQL*Loader. This can be automated.

On the other hand, a form needs user to operate it (so you can't automate that process). Why would you want to do it that way?

How does the file come to server B? If it is a program that does that, it might also call batch script that would run SQL*Loader. Otherwise, you might create a job (on server B) that would - periodically - check whether there's a new file on server B. If "yes", run SQL*Loader.
