    Question Unanswered: Converting Sybase Database

We have a sybase database file, extension .db. The application has been decomissioned (a long time ago) and the users need the data urgently. We would like to convert the tables into spreadsheets (Excel) or CSV files, etc. Basically extract the data from the tables.

The database file is a physical file .db and we are at a loss of how to open & read this file and see the tables & data. Are there any utilities that will do this. The only thing we have found requires us to connect to a database service but as you can imagine, there is no service. Only a physical .db file.

Any help is very much appreciated.

I think you'll just have to install a free version of Sybase. Use that to open the file and then use the bcp utility to extract the data from each useful table in a format compatible with excel.
