Unanswered: Password retention in case of db mirroring

My application database ID pwd expired and I changed the same in the primary database. I was under the assumption that since mirroring was in place, the secondary DB automatically gets notified of the change and is updated. I ran into an emergency situation and had to failover to secondary DB and this time the application stopped working. My DBA tells me in the case of pwd reset in SQL server we need to individually reset in each of the primary and secondary servers. Is this true?

This is true. Login information is kept in the master database. Not the user database.
