    Hi,

We have db2 8.2 version to be installed in Fedora 64 bit . Is it compatible with Fedora ? If not , which free version of Linux compatible for db2 8.2 ?

    thanks in advance.

DB2 8.2 has been out of support for a few years now, so whatever information there is may not be valid anymore.

Only red-hat and sles are supported by IBM. DB2, however, will run on most of the distro's. The ones I tried (arch/slackware/debian/SuSE/CentOS/ubuntu) just work

    Thanks all.

have installed db2 9.1 in Fedora 64 bit linux.

While trying to restore a backup image of db2 8.2 version , getting this below error.

SQL2547N The database was not restored because the backup image is from a
previous release and requires rollforward recovery.

IBM says offline backup should be taken again.
Is there any other solution ?

No, if you want to take a backup from a previous version and restore it to a newer version, then that backup has to be an offline backup. The reason is that the log file format usually changes between versions and are not compatible.
