Unanswered: Is SQL Analysis Service less widely use than SQL Database?

SQL Analysis Service doesn't seem as popular as SQL Database. I have been looking for tutorials and forums on SQL Analysis and building cubes, but there are not as much resource. Do anyone know why? Is it not as widely use or am I mistaken?

Please let me know. Thank you.

SQL Server is a pretty fundamental building block for applications of all kinds... A program that needs to store data needs SQL Server or an analagous tool.

Analysis Services is a fairly sophisticated tool for analyzing data. The multi-dimensional model is a completely different way to think about your data. The data can be derived from a SQL Server database, another source, or a combination of sources. Analysis Services gives the users a more abstract and potentially more powerful way to visualize that data so that they can easily find answers that the developer never considered.

In theory, theory and practice are identical. In practice, theory and practice are unrelated.
