    Unanswered: Access 2007 - can't modify query

I have an Access 2007 database that is locked somehow. I was able to display the navigation pane, but if I try to modify a query, I can't open the design window. I right click on the query and no options display. I just upgraded to 2007 and I'm still getting up to speed. How do I unlock this?

    1. Select Access Options from Office Menu (left top corner).
    2. Find options under Ribbon and Toolbar Options.
    3. Check whether check-marks are already there in all the following three options:

      • Allow Full Menus
      • Allow Default Shortcut Menus
      • Allow Builtin Toolbars

    4. Put check-marks in missing cases.
    5. Close the database and Open and it again.
    6. Right-click on the Query to display the short-cut menu

    Similar issue

I have a similar issue, but this time the Access Options selection is not visible in the MS Office button. How do I unhide this?

    found it..

Found it elsewhere on the web...
I was holding the shift key while opening the mdb file, but you have to hold it down until the file is completely open.
