Unanswered: SSIS Execute SQL Task Error "The data type of substitution parameter 2 does not match

    Hi all,

Would you please help me to find out what is really meaning of the following error… from SSIS 2008 R2...

"The data type of substitution parameter 2 does not match the expected type of the format specification.". Possible failure reasons: Problems with the query, "ResultSet" property not set correctly, parameters not set correctly, or connection not established correctly.

This error message came from a SSIS Execute SQL Task which executes a Stored Procedure as
    EXEC [PDSLog].[dbo].[uspBatchInfoUpdate] 289750,0,0,0,1,3,’00:00:03’
And, interesting thing is this error is not always failed only occurred randomly!!!

What result do you get when you use SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio) to run the EXEC statement you posted?

In theory, theory and practice are identical. In practice, theory and practice are unrelated.

    SSIS Excute SQL Task Error...

    Hi Pat,

    Thanks for replying...

Well, the SP ran OK from SSMS. What I am suspecting here is the SSIS Execute SQL Task doesn't like the SP which means the error message is from SSIS Runtime; not from SQL.

Also, the same code has been failed randomly!!!!

The error started occurring on our Production Server (SQL server 10.50.1600) one month ago and just started occurring this morning from our TEST server (SQL server 10.50.1777).
Again, the same code have been running without error for several months, and it just started occurring recently. Very frustrated!!!!
