Unanswered: Reading Form Values into a query

This is another simple one, I hope. I'm having trouble using the values I entered into a form in my query. I am using Access 2010.

In my query I reference the controls with the expression builder.

    Sub_ID: [Forms]![frmSubmissions]![SubmissionType_ID]

    SubmissionDate
    : [Forms]![frmSubmissions]![txtSubmission_Date]

    etc.

In the form I select of key various values into combo boxes and text boxes.

When I run the query, instead of reading those values I am prompted to enter parameter values. Why isn't it capturing the values I have entered. What I eventually want to do is insert those values into a table, but before I get that far I want to run a select query to make sure I am using the correct values and formats.

    I await your suggestions.

    Thanks,

    Paul

Is the form open when you run the query?
    Have a nice day!

    No question too simple

While your question did not point to the problem, it was open, it did cause me to look again at my query and the format of my combo boxes. I can't point to one thing, but I'm now pulling the data into my query.

Thanks for the reply. I'll be back again.
